Nevada – Self Storage Act Modified

Nevada has modified its self storage act as it pertains to advertising requirements. Please note these changes go into effect October 1, 2025.

The summary of the changes are that advertising has been reduced from 2 runs, in two consecutive weeks, immediately preceding the sale, to one time in the week immediately preceding the sale, and the description of the property to be sold has now been removed from the advertising requirement.

There is a third change regarding placement of notice if a newspaper does not publish within your judicial district.

You should review these changes with your local self storage counsel to make sure you are in compliance and understand all the changes and nuances to these changes on or before October 1, 2025.

Congratulations to both the National Self Storage Association and the Nevada Self Storage Association for working diligently to bring such an important change to your state.
